I'm Chris Rothfuss, Democratic challenger for U.S. Senate from Wyoming, and I NEED Change for a Buck.

Incumbent Senator Enzi (R-WY) will raise approximately $2 million this election cycle. He is a staunch supporter of the war in Iraq, a fearless defender of Big Pharma and the health insurance industry, and a friend of the Bank. He is the ranking minority member of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) committee. From 2005 until the Democratic takeover in 2007 he was the HELP committee chairman. For those two years, he was the most powerful person in the country on healthcare policy. How did that treat you?

He shouldn't get to win. He shouldn't get to have his Wyoming Senate seat bought and paid for by special interest groups. People that probably can't find Wyoming on a map will likely have more influence on our Senate election than the 220,000 registered voters of Wyoming.

What a system.

So I need YOUR help...

I need a Buck

...from everyone.

I can't compete with Mike Enzi on PAC money, so I'll try the old fashioned democratic approach of appealing to the people. There are over 70 million Democrats in our country, 40 million Independents, and a whole lot of Republicans that aren't particularly happy with their party right now. I'm asking all of you for one Buck.

The pundits say that Enzi is invincible. His seat is safe. Wyoming always votes Republican. If everyone believes that, it will certainly be true. Our current governor, Dave Freudenthal, won his 2006 election 70% to 30%. He is a Democrat. The problem isn't that Wyoming only votes Republican, it's that $1,400,000 will always beat $9,000 in a federal election. Those are the real numbers for Enzi's last win.

We are clearly on the right side of the issues. But we are on the wrong side of the money.

Most of the people I meet don't have $2000, or even $50 handy to donate to a political campaign. They care about the issues, but they have to fill up their gas tanks. So I created my ChangeForaBuck.net campaign. I want everyone to be able to have their voice heard.

I'm asking for:

1. 5 minutes of your time

2. One Buck

3. An email to all your friends

That can, and will, make a difference as we each add our voice to the chorus that wants a better future. Imagine the power of 2 million individual contributions of one dollar, compared with 2 million dollars of PAC money. They'd be running scared.
