On May 1, KOCA Radio Montanesa hosted the unveiling of a mural by Laramie artist Stevon Lucero at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center in Laramie. The mural, “Paredes Hablando -- Walls That Speak,” celebrates the history of the Latino community in Wyoming.  Among the nearly 100 in attendance at the event was Chris Rothfuss, Democratic candidate for Wyoming State Senate District 9.

Although Dr. Rothfuss did not attend the mural unveiling as a campaign event, the event organizers invited him to speak to the assembled audience about his campaign.  During his short speech, Dr. Rothfuss lauded the event organizers for their preservation and celebration of an important part of Wyoming's diverse cultural history.

Later, Dr. Rothfuss posted on his campaign's Facebook page that he "had an excellent time" at the event. "It's great to see a beautiful example of Wyoming's diversity come to life in such a colorful work of art," he said.

Rothfuss is seeking the Democratic nomination for the State Senate seat.  Primary elections will be held August 17.
